At this time in my life, I have witnessed family and friends in the breast cancer fight, and I need to do something. I am a doer, and when the Avon 3 Day Walk came to my attention, I thought, this is a good thing for me the doer. So, with my family and friends in the fight on my mind I will walk. I will walk with the support of my family, friends and community.

I will be walking in honor of Lucille Speckart, my maternal grandmother and Joyce Carpenter, my sister-in-law's mother and survivor, Bobbie, my mother-in-law. All of these women have taught me about courage.

This has been an enrichening experience for me, my family, and friends, one that will last a lifetime. Signing up to do this walk on my own was scary, but now several of my friends are wanting to sign up for next year. Everyone has been great support and incredibly generous.
